My upper body and hip rotation is just like Dave's in the video. It makes it easier to weight the rear ski. If you guys don't get it you're just not there yet. If I was having any problems with my skiing I'd rethink it but I'm not.
You guys should stick to a traditional style of tele skiing. Doing something different would offend your ski instructor friends.

Al, that's CRAP; your shoulders jump all over hell. Your skiing bears no resemblance to Dave's skiing AT ALL. If you want to rattle on about why terrible skiing is great skiing, start a different thread and stop blathering in this one.

IF anything, in a couple places, Dave's shoulders roll a bit, a tiny bit a couple times, UPHILL Al when he does a couple of those open-the-door pole plants (hardly noticeable), which would be the complete opposite of the direction your shoulders rotate.

So you're judging my skiing from one video skiing a 25 foot long run?

I see what I see in your video. You throw your upperbody in the last few turns and that's exactly NOT a quiet upperbody and it's what beginners do to initiate turns. You cannot sell it as some super-secret method and it has nothing to do with "B-tele." Maybe it's not how you normally ski. I have no way to know, but you go through great pains to try and justify it.

Al, feel free, by all means, to post more videos of your upperbody-rotation technique. Who knows, maybe you discovered something new and amazing, just never know?
