Really interesting video. SOFT leathers ( someone missed bragging about this i.e. "Wahhhhh, my leathers are softer than yours! REAL Tele only happens on soft leathers!!!!") In any case, this shows how to progress on gear that is wobbly, progress from survival moves to more stable Telemark.
( Not completely obvious to me why he raises his outside arm like he does in the Step Tele, but I guess it serves to; 1) Transfer more weight in the new edge change on the to-be outside ski and ; 2) to create a more positive pivot on the pole plant.)

Older lady 2 seasons into XCD gear. She is very much doing hybrid turns i.e. she often initiates from an alpine "stance" and then finishes Telemark, what Paul Parker called the Early Lead Change- early as early can be. The ELC puts a bit of a stagger or pause in the flow which some purist weenie always whines about but it has its uses.

She will learn to have less hesitation in the movement onto the new edges and that takes the stagger out. But a hybrid turn is useful in its own right, no matter what "purists" say.

NNN/BC ROUGH snow, no flip, flap, flop and NO uphill poling. Heels LOW. Skis better or irregular snow than anyone I have seen skiing the Xplore system on a few inches of bunny powder. If you're skiing lite and truly neutral gear like plain pins or NNN or Xplore on your toes, you are clueless and probably listening to people who cannot ski.

Pins, leathers, 200cm old skinny skis. Same technique as above.

Back in the day, Tele gurus would say he often does not have that full boot length in the between boots.. "TAIN'T Tele!!!! By crackie!"

Do you ski Telemark as some sort of religion? If so stop being stupid. Telehiro's step turn is so fast you can barely see it. Stepping up outta the spring muck.

Telehiro skis Xplore. And how? Exactly the same way he skis all systems but ESPECIALLY NEUTRAL bindings : Heels LOW, OFF THE TOES! And look at that floppy boot.

Tall, very compact and virtually never on his toes especially not on neutral or inactive bindings. He virtually never "elongates" or skis low, and staying compact and taller really helps to keep a skier off his toes. Anyone claiming that this binding transfers power well if a skier is all tipped forward on his toes (off the ball of foot) is obviously full of crap.

There's no reason to be on your toes skiing on an Xplore setup and every reason not to do so. Same old story: if there's no "cable", be careful to keep the heel down to properly pressure the binding. There's no "cable" to lever forward with. You have to direct force down and FORWARD basically just with your boot and that cannot be done well standing on your toes.

Comparing how Telehiro skis NNN/BC or cableless pins to Xplore, there appears to be no difference at all, NONE. Maybe if your emphasis is the Xc in xcd as opposed to the xcD, then there might be some slight selling point, but generally people seem oriented xcD, and additionally, Xplore seems sold at a premium price that is hard to justify from what I am seeing.

At, 2 new videos, one on leathers and plain pins, the other Xplore and hard flexors, same conditions. There's no difference in how well he skis and NO DIFFERENCE in HOW he skis. He is never on his toes.
