Oh Jezus, now a whole gang at Ttalk has concluded that with the Xplore system you no longer need to worry about skiing on your toes though it is not a cabled system. They reached this amazing certainty by looking at the video ads of the system and the videos of themselves skiing..CAPITAL D fkin' dumb. Because a Tom M wobbles around on the Xplore setup standing on his toes now means that to properly pressure the trailing ski is to do so tippy-toed? The fact that everyone skiing that shit skis poorly only means that the Tom M's of Ttalk cannot ski. Also, of course, there are no videos of anyone skiing Xplore in more than 3 inches of powder on anthing steeper than a 10-degree slope.

Ron, what you and I call skiing is not at all what those folks call skiing.

Why that flippy floppy Xplore mess when you can have this? Downhill control? No comparison. Be sure and also put some cheesy chunk of plastic in front of the pins. Wah wah wah "but it's so much heavier!" OK then, just keep skiing on your toes, dork.

Are you wanting to walk 10 miles or go skiing? I suspect there will be a lot more boot options before long. People skinning are not really walking; they are skating, slogging and sliding ..and then REALLY skiing. Some people have the interesting idea that there will be leathers for TTS, which is, of course ridiculous -- those compression springs will fold leathers like accordions. If I were going to move from HW3pin or Switchbacks, this would be it.. Simple, durable Voile. All those Xplore boots are just dishrags. And that bumper hype is a total joke.

Dude, look at this twinkle toes mess. Of course TomM and half of Ttalk now claim this ballerina shit has something to do with good Telemark which is, of course, pure bullshit, but they have that comfy boot which wrings like a dishrag, though they are all agog at the "stiffness" of the sole. People are skiing this thing on their toes because that's the only way to take "advantage" of the "stiffness" of the flexor. It's all another XCD joke.( Beware the opinions of the TomM crowd- like him, almost none of them can ski.) I'll say it again: the way to ski neutral bindings best is to keep off your damned toes.

I'm not suggesting Rottefella has the answer to anything. They don't. With choices being narrowed to flop boots or TX Pro's, tele will have died. AT will have won.

Boot makers seem reluctant to get to involved in production other than NTN. With all of the various modern binding options and continuous development, that's understandable.

I don't really know why people think it's some contest between telemark and AT. It is a choice in the sense that they are the only real choices for those wanting to skin But If you want to do Telemark turns, then AT is not an option, and if you don't care about Tele, then AT is certainly the better choice, and if you want a true alpine turn, then AT is also the better choice. It would be great to have a T2-class Tele 2pin choice for sure.

Shen, Voile says any NTN boot with the 2pin toe inserts works with their TTS binding. So you might want to look at the 3-buckle options by Scott and Crispi. This Crispi boot looks good. Like the T2 it has 3 buckles and a powerstrap and is designed for both resort skiing and touring. And the Scott Voodoo.
