A good storm coming in on the pass Sunday night into Monday. May dump up to 6 inches. Nice shot of Pendoreille Lake and the Idaho/Montana border mountains.

Can one ski every month of the year in Idaho? sure, but how ez is it? NOT..We live in a giant wilderness and the access to the highest peaks in the central part of the state is very limited by lack of roads and distances. June is not that hard to get a decent slide in at 6500 or so in our region and there are snowfields on the N. aspects at elevations as low as 7k ish that are not that hard to get to in early July, but August-- October is a challenge, though some years, there's skiable snow at out local hills as early as late October. . So what to do? Cascade volcanoes and some possibilities in relatively close areas of Montana..or BC and Alberta. Bc skiing in the Frank Church Wilderness area. (Snow piling up at Lookout this morning, bTW.)

Well I've got one pair stored for summer and it only took an hour per ski thanks to the shallow snowpack, just 3 pair to go between the spare moments of planting the garden and trying to keep up with the property, at least one pair is the powder skis that saw just 4 days and hopefully aren't as damaged, then it's the rock skis which will take a whole stick of ptex and probably 3 hours to prep for storage wax.

Just a reminder for those using the hardwires: don't forget to spin them off, clean the cylinders and derust and lube, and grease the rod threads! Pain in the a$$ to have stuck cylinders and rods!

By the time mine are rusted up they've been bashed together so many times it's a moot point, they aren't going to spin anyway. Been on Hardwires bindings since the release.

The cylinders spin out sometimes. I like to tighten them now and then and it drives me crazy when they resist much at all!
